What this site is

The Tokyo Doer is an independent publication covering Tokyo activities and classes. We go and do the thing — the class, the tour, the workshop — and tell you honestly whether it was worth your time and your money.

Paid partnerships

Most of what we publish is ordinary editorial: experiences we sought out and booked ourselves. From time to time a piece may include a paid partnership with an operator or studio we feature. When that is the case:

• We disclose it on the article itself and on the site-wide banner.
• A paid partner can be included in our coverage; a paid partner cannot dictate what we

say, suppress a competitor, or edit our copy.

• Any roundup that features a paying operator also includes options we have no relationship

with. We never run a comparison of paying partners only.

Our standards

• We write from first-hand participation — we booked it, we showed up, we did it.
• We don't publish praise we can't stand behind.
• Corrections are made promptly and noted.

How our content is produced

Articles are produced and edited by our editorial team, and reviewed before publication.
